Hafilat recharge — frequently asked questions

Short, practical answers about how to top up bus card balances on this site. If something is missing, the contact page is one click away.

How do I top up my hafilat card here?

Open the recharge form, type the 10-digit number from the front of the card, choose an amount from AED 5 to AED 500, and confirm. There is no app to install and no account to register.

How long does a top-up take to be credited?

Most top-ups are ready within a few minutes. The card itself updates the next time it is tapped on a bus reader.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Visa and Mastercard issued in the UAE. We do not accept cash or bank transfer on this site.

What are the fees and limits?

Each bus card recharge is between AED 5 and AED 500. Any service fee is shown clearly before you confirm — there are no hidden charges.

What if a payment failed, or money was taken but not credited?

If a top-up does not appear, contact us with the date and the card number. We check the transaction and either correct it or arrange a refund.

Is it safe to enter my card details?

Payment details are handled over an encrypted connection by the payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If a top-up was not delivered to the card, the amount is returned to the original payment method. The refunds page explains the steps.

How do I contact support?

Use the contact form, email support@busfareup.org, or call +971 50 742 6318 during business hours.

Which transit cards are supported?

Hafilat cards used on the Abu Dhabi public bus network — Standard, Personal, Senior and Student categories.

Where can I use the card after a top-up?

On public buses across the Abu Dhabi Emirate that accept the hafilat card. Tap on boarding and the fare comes off the balance.
